Kasabian Biography

Leicester, England-based rock band Kasabian was formed in 1999. Calling themselves Saracuse back then, the original members were lead vocalist Tom Meighan, bassist Chris Edwards, Keyboardist and guitarist Chris Karloff and drummer Ash Hannis. The band cut a demo EP under the Saracuse name but soon changed it to Kasabian before the release of their debut studio album in 2024. Hannis and Karloff have since left the band; with Hannis leaving shortly before the release of the self-titled debut and Karloff leaving in the middle of recording for the second album “Empire.” The debut album and their sophomore release were success for Kasabian with “Kasabian” hitting the 4th spot in the UK Album Charts and “Empire” debuting at number 1. With numerous hit singles and an NME award for Best Live Act, Kasabian has proved to be one of the biggest new rock acts produced by the UK rock scene.
