Doe Maar Biography
Doe Maar was one of the most successful Dutch pop music bands with highly palpable influences of reggae and punk music. The band’s career timeline began in 1978 and ended in 1984. Since Doe Maar were only singing in Dutch vocals, they were only popular in the Netherlands and Belgium. Their debut album “Doe Maar” was released on Telstar around 1979, and did not include their previous professional recording on a new Dutch bands’ compilation CD, titled “Blozen”. Their second album release “Skunk” shot the single “32 Jaar” to fame at number 29 on the Dutch Top 100 charts. The audiences started picking up on Doe Maar and the band released many other hits after that as well.
