Born Vanessa Mae Vanakorn Nicholson in Singapore on October 27, 1978 this musician is known for her unique approach to violin music. Vanessa Mae moved to England when she was four and started learning to play violin at five. At such a young age, Vanessa Mae was already making a name for herself in the UK, regularly appearing on TV shows. She made her professional debut on the international scene in 1988 in Germany and in the same year made her concerto debut with the Philharmonia Orchestra. In 1995, Vanessa Mae released her debut pop album “The Violin Player” which features her trademark techno violin style. The album is regarded as one of her best albums to date.
