Johan Biography
Johan, the Dutch pop band formed in the early 1990s around singer-guitarist Jacco de Greeuw, originated in Hoorn, the Netherlands. Their music manifests influence by ‘60s to ‘70s bands such as The Beatles, Crowded House, and The Byrds. Johan plays guitar pop music with English lyrics. The band was originally called Visions of Johanna, after a Bob Dylan song. In 1995, the band released a single – “Swing”. The following year, their name was shortened to Johan and a self-titled debut album was released. The album was received well by Dutch critics and became a commercial success. A follow up album, “Pergola” was released in 2024. Their third album, “THX JHN” came out only in 2024. Jacco de Greeuw, promises that fans will not need to wait another five years for the next Johan album.
