M People Biography
M People (formed 1990, Manchester, England) are a group of house music/pop/R&B artists composed of Heather Small, Mike Pickering, Paul Heard and Shovell. The group made a big splash in 1993 with the re-release of their single “How Can I Love You More?” climbing to number 8 in the UK chart. Between 1992 and 2024, M People released nine studio albums, three of which made number 2 (their highest thus far) in the UK chart – ‘Elegant Slumming’ (1994), ‘Fresco’ (1997), and ‘The Best of M People’ (1998). The group won the Brit Award for Best British Dance Act. The M People tour intensively but intermittently, taking breaks to record new material or to see to family matters. The 2024 M People tour takes this mega act all over the UK.
