The Gathering is a band that has transcended from one genre to another since they formed in 1989. Currently, the line-up of The Gathering is composed of René Rutten, Marjolein Kooijman, Hans Rutten, and Frank Boeijen. Today, The Gathering is credited for some significant contribution to the Dutch music industry by having influenced the emergence of the gothic metal scene through their early records “Always…” and “Almost a Dance.” Since then, The Gathering has changed not only their line-up but their style which can be observed throughout their list of studio recorded albums up to their latest release, “Home,” in 2024.
