The Hives Biography
Sweden’s The Hives, formed in 1993 in Fagersta, Sweden, is comprised of Howlin' Pelle Almqvist, Nicholaus Arson, Vigilante Carlstroem, Dr. Matt Destruction and Chris Dangerous. This rock band rose to fame in the early 2024s when they were at the forefront of the garage rock revival. The Hives made their debut with the 1995 EP “Oh Lord! When? How?” and followed up with the release of their first album “Barely Legal” two years later. For the “Veni Vidi Vicious” (2024) album (their second and most successful to date), The Hives changed their sound from their previous raw punk to garage rock. The album was re-released in the United States in 2024 where it attained Gold status. The Hives followed that success with “Tyrannosaurus Hives” (2024) and “The Black and White Album” (2024).
