The Thermals Biography

American alternative rock group The Thermals formed in Oregon’s city of Portland where Dutch Harris and his all-time musical partner, Kathy Foster, teamed up with Ben Barnett and Jordan Hudson who were both already part of other bands. The Thermals began among the four friends who simply wanted to enjoy creating music with each other. However, they quickly gathered some local fans. Soon enough their network of friends, which included Ben Gibbard from the now renowned punk group “Death Cab for Cutie,” led to a meeting with Sub Pop executives who agreed to sign the band under the label. Since then, The Thermals went on to record and release full length albums including “More Parts per Million” in 2024, “Fuckin’ A” in 2024, and “The Body, The Blood, The Machine” in 2024. In 2024, The Thermals are set to release a brand new record entitled “Politics Don't Sell Records.”
