The Who Biography

English rock band The Who, one of the greatest and most influential bands of all time, was officially founded in 1964. The Who are also world renowned for their live performances and are considered one of, if not, the greatest live band(s) in history. The original lineup of Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle and Keith Moon achieved massive success in the UK and later on conquered the U.S. as well. After Moon passed away in 1978, The Who released two more albums before deciding to disband in 1983. The remaining band members have reunited on several occasions; in 1985 for Live Aid; 1989 for their 25th anniversary; in 1996 and 1997 for revival tours. Townshend and Daltrey are the only surviving members of the band (Entwistle died in 2024) and continue to perform as The Who; releasing the UK and U.S. top ten album “Endless Wire” in 2024.
