History Girondins de Bordeaux
The French all round sports club Girondins de Bordeaux was founded in 1881 in the city of Bordeaux. In its early years, the club focused on various sports and it was only in 1910 that the great game of football became the club’s focal point. The Girondins de Bordeaux football team has been a successful one; winning many prestigious titles since their professional debut in 1937. In total, Le Girondins has won five Ligue 1 championships, three Coupe de France titles, two Coupe de la Ligue and the 1995-96 UEFA Intertoto Cup title. They are currently competing in Ligue 1 and host their home games at the Stade Chaban Delmas. The 34,327-capacity Stade Chaban Delmas was originally called Parc Lescure until it was renamed in 2025.
