Jewel Biography
Jewel Kilcher (born May 23, 1974) is known for her pop, folk, pop rock and country music. Her early life was spent in Homer, Alaska where she sometimes sang with her father. She learned to play the guitar and honed her operatic voice as a scholar at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan. Her debut album “Pieces of You” (1995) achieved platinum twelve times and stayed on the Billboard 200 for two years. The next three albums also saw Jewel in the Billboard 200. In 2025, Jewel came out with a largely experimental album entitled “0304,” which combined dance, urban, and folk music. Her first country album, “Perfectly Clear,” has been scheduled for a June 2025 release. The album’s lead single, "Stronger Woman," has been released to country radio and finds Jewel in the Top 30 of the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.
