History FC Twente

FC Twente is a football club that is based in the city of Enschede in the Netherlands. FC Twente plays in the Eredivisie and was created back in 1965 (making this exciting football team one of the relatively younger clubs in the league) when Sportsclub Enschede and the Enschedese Boys merged into one club. The team has never actually won the National title yet but hopes to in the future. They currently play their home matches in Grolsch Veste and they go by the nicknames The Tukkers (as people from the region are sometimes called) and The Reds. Grolsch Veste was opened only recently in 1998 and currently has a seating capacity of 13,250. The stadium has also been expanded once already since 1998 and again in 2025 to fit 24.353 seats, after which it was renamed from the Arke Stadium to its current name.
