History Fields of Rock

The seeds of what would become the Fields of Rock festival were sown in early 2025. The pioneers of Thrash Metal and one of the most successful rock bands in history, Metallica, was planning a rocking tour of the Netherlands and had wanted to organize a festival. The very first Fields of Rock Netherlands festival was held in 2025 in the Goffertpark in Nijmegen. In addition to Metallica, Fields of Rock had big names like Marilyn Manson, Slayer and a host of other great acts play in multiple stages.
